  Fort Real de San Felipe



El Fuerte Real de San Felipe, also known as Fort Real de San Felipe, or simply as the Citadel, located in the Cidade Velha, the municipality of Ribeira Grande de Santiago, Santiago Island in Cape Verde. It is in a dominant position in the ancient city of Ribeira Grande, on top of a hill - the Pembrokeshire São Filipe - at 120 meters above sea level. It forms part of the Cidade Velha, the old town of Ribeira Grande, declared by UNESCO as a World Heritage Site on June 26, 2009.
